India beat Pak in U-21 Sultan Johar Cup tournament

Sep 25: India defeated arch-rivals Pakistan 4-nil in the Sultan of Johor Cup Under-21 hockey tournament today.

In the event being held at in Johor Bahru in Malaysia, India completely outplayed their opponents in the second session and scored four goals in a sizzling display of attacking hockey.

India are on top of the league table along with hosts Malaysia with nine points from three victories from as many matches. The Indians are well placed to make it to the final.

With two matches left to be played by all six teams in the fray, Pakistan are on third spot with six points.

The top two teams after the round robin matches will play in the final, while the third and fourth place outfits will fight for the bronze medal.

Argentina and Korea are on one point each, while England are yet to open their account.
